Our story begins back in 2005 when our founder, John Smith, purchased 10 acres of land with the dream of starting his own small farm. John quickly realized how difficult it was to protect his crops from pests, frost, sun damage, and other environmental threats. After struggling during his first few seasons, John knew there had to be a better way. That’s when he began researching protective covers and nettings specifically designed for agriculture.
Unfortunately, John found most products on the market too expensive for small scale farmers. The cheap imports also lacked quality and durability. John saw an opportunity to create affordable, professional-grade covers and nettings to help small growers. And that’s exactly what he did!
In 2008, Agfabric® was born. Our first products were frost blankets and insect nettings designed for small gardens and farms. We quickly expanded into shade cloths, weed barriers, row covers, and more.
Our mission has always been simple – help gardeners and small farmers protect their plants affordably and sustainably. We use high-density polyethylene and polypropylene materials designed to be reused for many seasons. Our Farm & Facility
Agfabric® operates out of a 10 acre farm and manufacturing facility located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This is where our founder, John Smith, originally launched the business back in 2008.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our farm and built a state-of-the-art production facility on site. This allows us to manufacture all our own products while testing them on the farm. Our entire growing operation is protected using Agfabric® covers and nettings!
Operating our own farm provides critical insights into product development. We experiment with new cover materials and designs every season. Feedback from our crops helps us improve durability, effectiveness, and ease of use. Our facility also enables us to control every aspect of production. We’re able to ensure our products meet the highest standards for quality and reliability.
Our farm produces a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, and flowers – everything from tomatoes and peppers to barley and cut flowers. We use 100% natural and organic practices. The farm is also fully open for customers to visit and see Agfabric® products protecting crops in real growing conditions.
